East Columbus is it’s own neighborhood and not just a general area of the city. It has probably seen better days. Literally located on the other side of the tracks, it has a somewhat intact urban commercial corridor along intersections on E 5th Ave and borders the airport. It would be no surprise if gentrification gets off to a start here in the future since its main street holds much potential for a walkable, urban street. Another isolated neighborhood that few locals have ever passed through even though many bypass it daily on I-670, it might as well exist on the other side of the country for most Columbusites.
